Emmanuel Baptist Church to host free concert
On September 27th at 6:30pm, Emmanuel Baptist Church will host a free concert featuring Mark Cable in the Great Night Out. Emmanuel Baptist Church is the parent of the Bob Burdette Center and is the location of our main afterschool care site.

Cable is a Christian singer/songwriter and comedian who incorporates a mixture of music and humor into his shows. This unique style of performance has led the Pennsylvania-based artist on a tour of the eastern United States. He began playing guitar around 10 or 11 and went on to start performing after college. Cable began touring full-time in 1981 and is still delighting audiences 44 years later. With many positive reviews for his performances, this upcoming event is one you won’t want to miss!
“Mark, can’t thank you enough for the Great Night Out. Your blend of humor and meaningful music was amazing. Our folks are already asking for you to come back!”
Steve Schuster, Sr. Pastor, Sicklerville, UMC, Sicklerville, NJ
On the 27th, Cable will be performing in the Great Night Out which is a coffeehouse style of show consisting of a mix of original songs and comedy sets. It will be a fun night with a sweet treat at intermission according to Cable’s website, “Typically the night consists of two sets of music and comedy with an intentional dessert break in the middle for folks to interact and relax.” This break in between sets will feature a dessert bar and a chance to connect with fellow community members.
Below is End of The Day, an original song by Cable written for his wife Dodi. It is a good example of the acoustic style that you can expect at Cable’s shows.
