Winter Break Is Over, Let the Fun Begin!

The Bob Burdette Center Welcomes Students Back For 2026

Yesterday, we welcomed students back to the Bob Burdette Center after winter break! All three of our sites were open, active, and excited to be back in action. Although the holiday season was exciting, we were ecstatic to welcome the students back for the first afterschool program day of 2026.

On our first day back, we took some time to review expectations and routines to help students feel confident and comfortable as we proceed into 2026. The start of a new year is always a great opportunity to set goals, try new things, and build positive habits. One way we are fostering good habits and a positive routine is through our new behavior incentive program. Our new program incentivizes students to act respectfully and help others through a star chart and a ticket program. Stars are given out at the end of each day for being a positive role model and following program rules. The star charts are being used for larger end-of-the-month events. Tickets are given out multiple times throughout the day for good behavior and positive actions and can be saved up for prizes from the ticket store.

The start of a new year is a time when many people make resolutions and goals for the upcoming year. We at the Bob Burdette Center are making a resolution to keep working on bettering our program so that we can provide the best possible afterschool care. After all, learning and growth have no limits, and we are committed to continually developing while helping our students do the same.
